Slimline Bins in Bolton Encourage Residents To ‘Slim Down’ on Their Waste

Bolton residences are set to have their 240 litre waste bins replaced with slimmer, 140 litre bins in a bid to encourage people to ‘slim down’ on their waste. Recent figures have shown that waste disposal costs have increased by £4m since 2011.

It is hoped that these new waste bins will lower waste removal costs as well as encourage people to recycle their waste more efficiently.

Currently, in Bolton, the recycling rate is 38pc. The new bin scheme should increase this rate to 45pc.
